OPS Field Technician

Mi-Tech offers a broad range of professional, engineering and technical services to the telecommunications and power delivery markets. We have a current opening for an OPS Field Technician II. At Mi-Tech, we support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: Communications Design Services, Energy Distribution Services, Utility Pole Inspection, and Environmental Services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interprets utility construction prints as they relate to the construction site.
  • Stakes facility to be constructed, cables, structures, etc.
  • Coordinates work with construction crews.
  • Ensures construction crews follow construction prints.
  • Ensures construction crews follow facility owner safety requirements.
  • Understands ROW, permit and easement requirements related to the construction site.
  • Document construction units completed.
  • Documents construction changes occurring in the field.
  • Proficient with using GPS and data collection devices.
  • Works closely with Associate and Supervisor.
  • Computer software proficiency to assist with unit tracking and updates (e.g. Microsoft Excel, customer tracking programs, etc.)
  • Perform OSP field design as needed.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Overnight Travel will be required for the completion of job duties
  • Valid drivers license
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Applicants must be detail-orientated and have the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and learning new software
  • Ability to handle more than one project at a time and to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge utilizing GPS and data collectors
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or GIS software
