For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.
NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the Agricultural Research Service through the Experienced Worker Program (EWP).

NOTE: This position has the option to work remotely. |
Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year(s) of experience in Database management. OR BA/BS Degree in Computer science or related field. - None
- Experience required with Windows, Apple Macintosh, MS Word, MS Excel
- SciNet and other HPC, Bioinformatics including Kraken2 and Synteny analysis programs.
Duties:This position supports bioinformatic analyses for our research by interfacing with HPC and developing program support with SciNet.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. - Data Analysis. 60%
- Data Management. 30%
- Interfacing with unit personnel. 10%
Other:- Training will be provided as necessary by the agency.
