Director of Home Technology

Position Summary:

We are hiring a Director of Home Technology to provide white-glove support for a private family. This role is based in Boston, MA and will require travel throughout New England and Southern Florida.

The ideal candidate has expertise in current home technology hardware and software systems and experience providing five-star service. This role requires a “concierge mindset.”

The clients are looking to make an immediate hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide seamless and secure service at all properties, ensuring peak performance of all technology related products and systems.
  • Establish preventative maintenance systems for all technology, devices, and equipment.
  • Interact with the principals directly to identify needs and concerns, relating to technology in their homes, providing feedback, presenting options, and ideas in a clear, concise, and relatable manner.
  • Work with the Family Office team and all technology vendors on bids, projects, scopes of work, installations, and repairs.
  • Create user friendly guides for the principals and Family Office team.
  • Maintain clear documentation of tech equipment employed in each residence. Make recommendations for updates.
  • Provide white-glove service to troubleshoot and fix technology issues.
  • Manage and develop the Technology Manager, deploy as needed.
  • Collaborate with corporate security and technology teams on behalf of the principals for any systems that cross over into the residences.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience managing home technology operations for either private individuals or working as a tech for an AV firm or corporation.
  • Deep understanding of Smart Home systems including Crestron, Lutron, Sonos, Access Networks, Ruckus, Ubiquity, Security camera and access systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skillset.
  • Comfortable on MAC and PC computers.
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent problem solver with high sense of urgency.
  • Congenial, positive, steady disposition; easily gets along with all stakeholders.
  • Curious with a desire for professional development through ongoing education and training (employer paid).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective and respected manager who sets high standards for themselves and others.
  • College degree strongly preferred, not required for individuals with the proper experience and skills.
  • Driver’s license, passport, and legal authorization required to work in the US.

 

Schedule:

Generally, Monday to Friday, business hours with flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as requested.

 

Compensation:

Base compensation of $200,000 - $225,000 offered, depending on experience.
