R&D Technician

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Update and maintain formula database, create all new and updated corporate data sheets
• Proof read formulas, BOM’s and labels
• Prepare correspondence, statements, receipts, or other documents for communication between other functional groups
• Locate and order R&D new ingredients and/or packaging materials with procurement assistance
• Maintain test kitchen ingredients and record lot codes
• Travel as needed for training(very limited)
• Create and Maintain Process Specifications
• Create preliminary Nutritional Analysis
• Update Product Process Specifications as needed
• Help package and set up samples for mail order shipments
• Work closely with R&D Manager to ensure the effective transition of new or improved products from the lab to fill scale manufacturing.
• Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) test runs with Production with the objective of hand-off to full industrialization.
• Mixing, scaling, baking, finishing, and coordinating shipment of test products as needed.
• Operating ovens, stoves, mixers, and other bakery equipment.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPENTENCIES

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree(GED)
• Proficient in Micro Soft Office.
• Experience within a food manufacturer preferred
• Excellent math skills
• Ability to become familiar with company methods and standards and apply that knowledge to daily duties
• Proven ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner
• Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills
