Product Development Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

Position Summary: Product Development Engineering Intern – 2025 Summer Internship Program

Location: Nashua, NH

 

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM’s globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Product Development Engineering Intern to join our team. The position will be located in Nashua, NH.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Product Development Engineer intern will support one or more NPI Product Engineers in all aspects of daily work

What you’ll do:

Gain Experience:

  • Tolerance analysis incorporating GDT and Six Sigma techniques
  • Failure analysis investigation techniques using various forensic tools as in mechanical sectioning, SEM and CT scan analysis
  • Quality / defect analysis and risk assessment
  • Product design improvement and Product derivative design / validation
  • Application testing, cost analysis, and value engineering
  • Product documentation and Technical paper (TB) creation / revision
  • Coordination with relating internal and external business partners
  • Introduction to high-speed precision stamping, thermoplastic molding design and processes and high speed electroplating processes

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

The ideal candidate would be completing their Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior year of undergraduate studies or graduate level in Mechanical Engineering and related focus disciplines, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with machining and fixture design
  • Solid modeling tools (Pro/E), FEA tools a plus
  • Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical people
  • Ability to work in team environment
