POSITION SUMMARY
The repair supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the Repair Department, ensuring efficient and effective operations. This role involves developing and implementing action plans, managing resources, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for supervising and directing the Repair Department team members.
- Oversee the work and performance of direct reports using 5M controls.
- Plan and determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on priority.
- Review attendance and productivity, taking necessary actions for improvement.
- Understand the company's long-term goals (Hoshin) and develop department-specific action plans.
- Implement and monitor results, participating in budget preparation.
- Interpret documentation such as service bulletins and manuals to construct necessary processes and procedures for staff
- Maintain jigs, parts, and floater inventory in the Repair Department for accuracy.
- Ensure jigs, tools, equipment, and computers are in top working condition.
- Responsible for equipment calibration and confirm timely completion.
- Facilitate meetings and training sessions, including equipment use, safety, operational, and technical training.
- Prepare work instructions and forms to manage processes and streamline operations.
- Monitor processes, materials, and surroundings to detect or assess problems.
- Report abnormalities to the Manager and collaborate on potential solutions.
- Support and contribute to quality improvement activities, promoting 5S and Kaizen practices.
- Responsible for the compliance with IATF16949 requirements within the Repair Department and support compliance efforts across other departments in the operation.
- Improve technical and operational skills of team members and promote knowledge sharing.
- Communicate with internal and external departments and customers to accomplish tasks.
- Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools and equipment, and report needs to the Manager for approval.
- Contribute to warranty cost reduction efforts.
Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervises employees onsite in the Repair group. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in a relevant field such as electronics, electrical engineering or computer science or five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to read and interpret schematic diagrams. At least 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a technical or repair-focused environment. Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
