POSITION SUMMARY:

Operate water trucks and/or several types of power construction equipment. May repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties. The water truck driver works within the race track hours designated for track preparation by the raceway manager. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by maintaining the raceway grounds and preparing the raceway for events. Will require varied work hours with an end time based on the completion of the job.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Water Truck Driver:

  • Control dust on motocross tracks, supercross tracks, and other off-road-related obstacles
  • Maintain and clean up race tracks and drainage areas.
  • Clean, maintain and ensure the safety of parking areas and roads used for all business operations
  • Maintain daily maintenance schedules check oil, hydraulics levels, and engine oil, coolant levels, fuel level, grease as needed and exhaust fluid levels to maintain full operating levels.
  • You must take direction for the prep and daily operations from the raceway manager and report directly back with equipment or track issues daily.
  • Adhere to safety regulations while maintaining vehicles (googles, gloves, caution with chemicals, etc.)
  • Report hazards on the raceway to management.
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, and other workers.
  • Consider the safety of other workers, staff members, and customers during duty to avoid injuries and other casualties.
  • During the downtime, the employee will be expected to help the other positions at the raceway.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Daily check off per DMV standards/requirements.
  • Clean and wash assigned equipment after each used.

Laborer:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Preparing sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting dirt.
  • Remove weeds throughout the entire venue, including keeping the main entrance clean from weeds, trash, and debris that has washed down the driveway.
  • Trim trees to keep signs open and visible for patrons to see.
  • Keep water spigots on the tracks clean, visible, and in good operating condition.
  • Maintain fence closures and fix (or report) broken fences around the facility.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of bleachers and grandstands.
  • Ensure the pavilion areas are clean and presentable to patrons by removing dirt and debris.
  • Maintain all trash can service daily by removing full bags and replace with clean bags.
  • Flagging for riders on the raceway, looking for debris and/or accidents, and reporting them to the lead flagger
  • During the downtime, the employee will be expected to help the other positions at the raceway.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment operations and equipment mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of safety rules in operating equipment.
  • Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
  • Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
  • Ability to perform physical activities like kneeling, crawling, jumping, and lifting, amongst others.
  • Ability be able to lift 100 pounds or more.
  • Ability to endure extremes in temperature or harsh weather conditions.
  • Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to drive a manual and automatic dump truck.
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License in good standing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating multiple pieces of equipment, dump trucks, water trucks, and more.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing (including marijuana) before a job offer.
  • Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians.
