Facilities/Maintenance Technician

Summary of Position:

This position is primarily responsible for the routine maintenance, repair and installation of complex printed circuit board manufacturing equipment, with additional expectations of flexibility to support some facility needs as situations may arise/dictate.        

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Routine/Emergency maintenance of HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Fume Scrubbers, and Compressor Systems that support the facility.
  • Utilization of a Building Management System (BMS) to maintain various facility area environmental needs and use of the system to diagnosis/adjust as needed when issues arise.
  • Maintaining the chemistries required to efficiently operate Boiler and Chiller systems.
  • Ensuring the State of NH and OSHA required specifications of chemical fume ventilation is maintained in accordance with all specifications.
  • Ensuring that annual required State of NH inspections of Boilers are completed as required.
  • Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring. Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
  • Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats, various controllers, etc.
  • Inspect and test systems to verify system operation/specifications to detect and locate potential malfunctions as part of the routine preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Diagnose systems & troubleshoot emergency equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • A working knowledge of all aspects of AC power (3 phase to single phase) and DC power, electronics, computers, as pertains to equipment in a manufacturing environment that includes complex systems that integrate all these functions to allow the equipment to operate.
  • Experience with Hitachi Drill and Orbotech Automated Optical Inspection equipment a plus, but not required.
  • Read & interpret operation/maintenance manuals, as well as other technical documents (i.e., mechanical blueprints/electrical schematics).
  • Prior experience in the maintenance of Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing equipment a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to effect at least temporary repairs to PVC/copper plumbing in an emergency.
  • Perform a variety of other maintenance activities on a proactive & reactive daily basis. These activities do not require expertise such as certifications but are highly desirable: welding (plastic& metal), facility upkeep.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule & procedures as required by various company certifications (ISO, NADCAP, etc.) that meet the criteria of the certifications concerning actual work performance and documentation.
  • Perform daily activities in a chemical environment.
  • Log all work done and parts inventory used into the Fiix CMMs system.                                                                                              
  • Self-Starter capable of managing daily activities (assigned routine and emergencies) with minimal supervision.
  • This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements: (Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses)

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 years related experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance is required and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (electro-mechanics preferred).                                            
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely. 
  • Familiarity with standard OSHA safety procedures and requirements.   
  • "User" knowledge of Microsoft Office at a minimum; to be able to troubleshoot PC based systems that control manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to information into a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability/flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
