Assistant Branch Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY
The position of Assistant Branch Manager requires an individual with solid organizational and member service skills.  This position will be a team leader and requires an individual possessing strong product knowledge, sales skills and ability to motivate individuals operating as a team.  The Assistant Branch Manager will support and oversee branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support in the training, motivating, and supervising of staff on sales techniques and product knowledge in order to deliver excellence in member service.
  • Assist with ensuring that policies and procedures are in compliance with credit union established policies and procedures. 
  • Lead a proactive and consistent effort to reach branch and credit union goals.
  • Build positive relationships with members.
  • Perform a broad range of member service activities.   
  • Responsible for facilitating the loan application, approval and closing process for the full range of consumer loans available to Credit Union members.
  • Assist Branch Manager in creating and maintaining a cross-selling environment within the branch.  Coach employees on sales techniques and product knowledge to insure branch will meet established goals.
  • Apply approved processes to ensure branch remains in compliance with federal regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee the physical maintenance of the branch facility, ensuring everything is properly maintained and in good working order.  Report all identified issues to the Branch Manager.
  • Assist staff or personally resolve member complaints and inquiries at the branch level.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures, including compliance with federal laws and regulations as set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for supervising branch staff and interacting with members, vendors, branch employees and branch visitors
  • Requires completion of high school education.
  • At least two years of MSO experience is required.  Experience in lending is required.  Previous management experience preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures and branch products and services.  Knowledge of the Credit Union movement is a plus.
  • Requires strong sales skills or the willingness to learn sales skills in order to meet established monthly branch and credit union goals.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
  • Requires PC proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
