INSTRUMENTATION ESTIMATOR
PTW is hiring an Instrumentation Estimator to join our team! The position is located in Nisku, AB.
If you have at least 3-4 years of Instrumentation field experience with exposure to; Industrial, Mining & Minerals, Oil & Gas, and construction market, we want to hear from you! You will be able to take initiative, set priorities and be able to produce a detailed proposal efficiently.
A DAY IN THE LIFE…
- Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required content of the estimate.
- Provides input regarding estimating strategies including profitability, risk management, execution strategy, and costs.
- Consults with other departments to ensure labour, equipment and materials reflect current pricing, construction costs and timelines.
- Attends site visits, as required.
- Prepares estimated man-hour budgets.
- Prepares cost estimates associated with scope changes.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS...
- A Journeyman Instrumentation Technician with 3-4 years field experience or an estimator with previous Instrumentation estimating experience or Instrumentation Engineering Technology diploma.
- Industrial field experience is preferred.
- Experience working with Trimble Estimation software is a bonus.
- Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Exceptional time-management skills. Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly. Thrives in a busy, deadline-oriented environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail. Good problem solver and critical thinker.

- Travel to pre-tender sites as required (Across Alberta)
- Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and be resourceful.
- Able to work in a team environment or independently.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Able to work well under pressure.
