Demand Planner

The Power Solutions Group, a business unit of Amphenol, is the market leader for power electrical connectors and cables for the Telecom/Datacom Market serving (Storage, Servers, Networks, etc.). We are seeking a motivated Demand Planner to join our team in Etters, PA. This role will report to the Controller of the Power Solutions Business Unit.

Summary:

This position maintains and manages all contractual Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures adequate material inventory in accordance with production schedules and forecasted demand from customers resulting in increased service levels with contractual agreements.
  • In cooperation with other company units, reviews schedules and makes adjustments in accordance with customer requirements, changed priorities, etc.
  • Analyzes and monitors forecasts and associated product usage for specific customer based VMI programs to validate part number level adherence to contractual agreements by use of data warehouse, monitoring and measure forecast deviations.
  • Manages reserved and consigned inventory levels to maximize inventory turns and minimize supply risk.
  • Monitors and validates inventory transactions of consigned product at customer locations.
  • Communicates directly with customers and internal/external sales personnel to initiate additions/deletions from VMI programs.

Education/Experience                                                            

Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.

Electronic connector product knowledge is a plus.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or data. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions as required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Advanced level skills and knowledge of Database software; Internet software; adaptable to Manufacturing and Order processing systems; EXCEL Spreadsheet software and WORD software.
  • Possess sensitivity to manufacturing and supplier constraints and objectives.
  • Make recommendations concerning additions/removals of part numbers to the VMI program.
