PTW is hiring a Junior Purchaser to join our team.
This position reports to the Procurement Manager. Working with our Procurement Team, the Purchaser will procure materials for PTW's various Electric & Controls divisional branches which are located across Western Canada.
A DAY IN THE LIFE…
- Negotiates, procures, and manages material for PTW’s various branches on construction and maintenance projects.
- Expedites and tracks all incoming material orders.
- Ensures orders and quotes are meeting specified deadlines and paperwork from suppliers is complete and correct.
- Identifies, evaluates, and escalates potential risks that could affect project deliverables.
- Develop and maintain constructive, cooperative and customer focused working relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and project teams.
- Assists Estimators/PM’s by providing competitive pricing for quotations.
- Effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing.
- Keeps up-to-date with new supply sources.?
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience working in the Instrumentation and/or Electrical wholesale industry.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in supply chain / procurement.
- SCMP, College or equivalent degree/certification in Purchasing considered an asset.
- Require strong verbal skills (expression and comprehension) and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of procurement processes.
- Intermediate Microsoft 365 skills (specifically Word, Excel, OneDrive and Teams)

- Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
