Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our Hi-Speed Cable team. The position will be located onsite in our Nashua, New Hampshire office.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Process Engineer will provide technical expertise in the design, development and manufacturing of Hi-Speed Cable products. In this cross-functional role you will also support the overall business by executing the technical aspects of the strategic plans of the organization, act as the technical liaison between engineering and global manufacturing groups to successfully deploy products. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Design and Development of Hi-Speed Cable products to optimize manufacturability.  (Quality, Cost, Efficiency)
  • Be responsible for the successful transition of products and processes from NPI phase to volume manufacturing into low-cost regions and regular interfacing with NPI and manufacturing engineering groups at the facilities globally.
  • Provide technical assistance to drafters, designers, engineers and other support personnel
  • Define, Source, and Implement equipment/tooling needed to build Hi-Speed Cable assemblies to support early sample builds for design validation and customer requirements.
  • Actively participate / integrate with product designers in support of design reviews, component and product testing and qualification, and introduction of new products including product derivatives supporting market demands. Participate in quality investigations to assure product specifications.
  • Evaluate, understand, and implement elements from customer specifications that define required cable assembly customization  
  • Participate in fixture design and managing test plans supporting the NPI process. Assist in design, procurement, and debug of fixtures and tooling
  • Identify and facilitate a variety of project initiatives such as cost improvement, overall quality initiatives, and product performance benchmarking. 
  • Establish and document process details. Work with team to define critical product/process parameters relating to product documentation nominals and tolerances and they are related to process functions. Drive transfer of manufacturing tools and processes to volume manufacturing sites
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25%

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering degree
  • 2-5 years of experience as Process/Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of solid modeling tools, (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of statistical concepts
  • Ability to communicate technical & non-technical people and relate with assembly process engineers in each region of the world.
  • Ability to provide technical design and process information relating to product manufacturability, process and design costs, process risk assessment and product capability assessment.
  • Experience with PCBA SMT and/or soldering preferred
  • Experience in the design and assembly of telecommunication cable assemblies preferred
