Dessert Holdings is looking for a Production Manager who will ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards, while following the overall production schedule to manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals. This position is based in our Kennesaw, Georgia facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and model general Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.
- Lead the achievement of a zero-injury workplace by ensuring safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations on environmental, health and safety issues.
- Develop, implement, and manage all production procedures to ensure all plant goals are met.
- Supervise, train and coach manufacturing leaders in their responsibility for personnel and labor issues, and conduct performance appraisals of the team to recommend developmental needs and ongoing training.
- Build a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism, demonstrating active support for the Company’s culture.
- Responsible for achieving budgets for capital investments, productivity, downtime, and waste.
- Maintain records for all phases of production relative to the quality of the product, including plant formulation records, and those records necessary for auditing purposes to include order completion and scheduling of holiday production.
- Analyze results of bakery operations, determine variances from standard, and take corrective action as needed.
- Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the Food Safety and Quality systems.
- Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on management experience required, and direct manufacturing experience with a consumer goods company preferred.
- Familiarity with the operations of all plant departments: production, quality, maintenance, materials management, and food safety.
- Demonstrated track record of leading the improvement of operations while delivering day to day performance.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth computer skills: including MS Office and ERP Software.
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
