Position Overview 

Are you ambitious, self-driven, and eager to transform the way customers view compact construction equipment? Southeastern Equipment is searching for a Compact Equipment Sales Representative to focus on building relationships and growing sales within the landscape, nursery, and agriculture markets. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who thrives on uncovering leads, delivering engaging demos, and driving revenue growth.  The territory for this role is CUYAHOGA and part of Medina County.  Qualified candidates must reside in the territory.

 

You will manage a mix of scheduled appointments and on-the-spot customer visits, equipped with a truck, trailer, and some of the best compact equipment in the industry. Your goal? To establish trust, showcase value, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with landscape, nursery, and agriculture customers, as well as contractors and other key stakeholders. 

  • Actively prospect and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory. 

  • Conduct on-site demonstrations to showcase the advantages of compact equipment, emphasizing its practical applications in landscaping, agriculture, and nursery operations. 

  • Confidently operate and transport equipment via truck and trailer to deliver professional-grade demos. 

  • Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, track customer interactions, and maintain an organized sales pipeline. 

  • Negotiate sales contracts and pricing, focusing on value-driven solutions that maximize profitability for both the company and the customer. 

  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities to identify and act on growth opportunities. 

  • Represent Southeastern Equipment at trade shows, industry events, and customer gatherings to expand your professional network and promote our products. 

 

Compact Equipment Line 

  • Case Equipment: Mini excavators, compact track loaders (CTLs), skid steers, and compact wheel loaders. 

  • Kobelco Equipment: Kobelco SK55 and smaller. 

  • Bomag Equipment: Compactors, including Bomag BW100 and smaller models. 

  • Attachments: Versatile stand-alone tools to enhance equipment functionality. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Proven sales or operational experience within the landscape, nursery, or agriculture sectors is highly desirable. 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and close sales opportunities, leveraging existing networks to drive business growth. 

  • Skilled in delivering compelling demonstrations, articulating value propositions, and building rapport with customers. 

  • Ability to safely operate and transport equipment with a truck and trailer; CDL is a plus. 

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse customer base. 

  • Motivated by unlimited earning potential and driven to exceed goals. 

  • Familiarity with CRM systems for pipeline management and strategic sales planning. 

  • Clean driving record is required.

  • Unlimited commission potential based on gross margin dollars generated—higher margins mean higher commissions. 

  • Competitive base salary starting at $45,000, plus performance-based commissions.  (Expected annual gross: 65-100K+)

Educational and Experience Requirements 

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or college degree preferred. 

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of compact equipment applications. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging individual and group audiences effectively.
