Staff Pharmacist

Job Title: Staff Pharmacist
Reports To: Pharmacy Manager

Position Overview:
Ensure accurate and safe dispensing of medications while maintaining compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations. Provide excellent customer service and support patient care needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Management:

    • Review, compound, and dispense prescribed medications accurately.

    • Perform drug utilization reviews and ensure proper documentation in pharmacy systems.

    • Monitor controlled substances and follow security protocols.

  • Customer Support:

    • Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and storage.

    • Answer questions and address patient concerns using professional judgment.

  • Compliance:

    • Maintain pharmacy operations in compliance with state and federal laws.

    • Complete state-required continuing education (CEUs) as per licensing requirements.

    • Report changes in employment to the state board of pharmacy.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Assist in training and supervising interns and ancillary staff as needed.

    • Work closely with the Pharmacy Manager to support operational goals.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Follow established procedures for quality, safety, and waste disposal.

    • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.


Qualifications:

  • Education: B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.

  • License: Active pharmacist license in good standing.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

    • Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems.

    • Ability to multitask, adapt to changes, and work independently.

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
