Special Education Evaluation Specialist

Job Summary: The Evaluation Department Manager is responsible for ensuring all children referred for evaluation receive high quality, clinically appropriate assessments in accordance with state and county regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all reports submitted are of high quality and undergo quality assurance review
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the evaluation process in the various programs
- Assist with supervision of all employees within the Evaluation Department
- Assist with billing issues as needed and ensure timely payment for completed evaluations
- Conduct daily department monitoring activities to ensure goals are met
- Attend IEP and IFSP meetings
- Conduct home and center-based evaluations and/or observations when necessary
- Conduct professional development workshops as needed
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise during the evaluation process
- Conduct quality assurance audits
- Communicate with various referral sources regarding pending cases
- Other duties as assigned by Director
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Individual must hold a valid certification as a School Psychologist, Special Education (Permanent or B-2) or Master's in Social Work to ensure clinical competence.
- Successful experience working in a high-volume work environment where organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
Qualifications and Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook a must.
- Strong analytical skills
- Remain current regarding policy and regulations
Physical Requirements of the Role:
- Must be able to travel to and from assigned work events including but not limited to driving personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
- Occasionally ascends/descends stairs going to, while at, or leaving work location or facilities traveled to for work events.
- Occasionally moving and/or lifting objects at work weighing up to 20 pounds such as files or copy paper.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time up to 90% of the work day working on a computer/electronic device.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
