Systems Adminstrator
PURPOSE OF THE CLASSIFICATION:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of City user computers.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Provides hardware and software support for all servers, including Microsoft file servers, email servers, SQL servers,Unix/Linux and any other servers in stand-alone and virtual environments.
- Maintains web and email filters, email servers and clients, email archive server, antivirus server and clients, Active Directory, backup server and tape library, and network, server and PC security.
- Maintains storage arrays and all associated backup jobs and appliances.
- Provides Tier-2 support for cloud-hosted applications, such as, but not limited to: Manager Plus, Shelter Pro, CentralSquare (Naviline), Pontem, etc. and any other cloud-hosted applications we may use now or in the future.
- Creates reports using tools from CentralSquare (Cognos), Manager Plus, or other software, and run, or allow user to run, created reports.
- Maintain workflows and database modifications, when needed, to Manager Plus or other software, and implement changes for use in the applications.
- Assists Network Specialist in providing support for network troubleshooting and repair.
- Provides support for VoIP telephone system.
- Assists in providing hardware and software support for all workstations, printers, copiers and any other equipment attached to the computer or network.
- Records and broadcasts City Council, Public Works and other meetings as needed.
- Operates office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems, and uses computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications; learns to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented.
- Performs other work as necessary and or as assigned.
- Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Systems Administrator reports directly to the IT Director.
The Systems Administrator does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least an Associate's Degree in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years experience with Server and PC troubleshooting in a networked environment; or equivalent education and experience.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Basic knowledge of network hardware including switches, routers, cabling, firewalls and other such equipment; knowledge of and experience with network protocols; experience with Microsoft PC operating systems that include Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11; experience with server administration on Windows Server 2008, 2012 or later Standard and Enterprise; experience with Microsoft Exchange server administration; experience maintaining Microsoft Office applications; experience with configuring web filters (Barracuda preferred); experience with virtual servers in VMWare environment. Knowledge and experience with Active Directory and domain controllers is a must. Experience with VoIP telephone systems is a plus. Candidate must be very customer service oriented and be able to carry out daily tasks with minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter.

While performing the duties of this job, Arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to operate personal computers and workstations at long intervals. Punctuality and reasonable attendance is essential. Must submit to drug screening and fitness to work physical exam.
Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid Oklahoma Class D driver's license is required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work in this classification is primarily indoors in an office environment. Will travel to other City locations as required. Requires some night and weekend work with ability to work on-call.
