Imagery Analyst I
Our SpecTIR LLC Production Division is conducting a search for an Imagery Analyst I – Apprentice for a position starting in February 2025.
The Candidate will apply geospatial image processing techniques to pre-process and exploit multi-platform remotely collected data and hyperspectral raw data. The Apprentice Analyst supports the SpecTIR Production team in generating processed diverse datasets to meet company and client requirements.
Position Requirements
The apprentice should have a geospatial science background and/or equivalent work experience with a basic understanding of GIS/digital cartography, image processing, and data analysis to develop remote sensing flight plans, perform data quality assurance, process hyperspectral imagery in accordance with proprietary workflows, perform image analysis, and archive data using commercial off-the-shelf and specialized in-house remote sensing and GPS processing software.
Analyst shall prepare, deliver, store, and maintain processed digital data and hyperspectral datasets, and perform other related duties as required.
Interstate, intrastate, and international travel may be required to meet mission requirements.
Attend, conduct, and participate in meetings, conferences, and training as required.
Skill Requirements
- Familiarity with remotely sensed raster imagery.
- Competency in handling geospatial data and related cartographic concepts.
- Accurate typing, keying, and data entry skills using computer software applications, internet applications, and for the processing and storage of large quantities of data.
- Attention to details to focus cognitive abilities and efficiently allocate resources to complete thorough and accurate tasks, monitoring and checking information during the process.
- Effective, articulate professional communications skills to speak clearly, concisely, and accurately to convey information and ask questions.
- Flexibility, and willingness to work alone or in collaborative groups with team members and clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills for effective identification of problems, to propose and implement solutions, fact-finding, brainstorming, prediction, analysis, and discussion.
Preferred Experience
- Hands on Experience in handling, processing, or exploiting Airborne Hyperspectral or Multispectral Imagery
- Experience in fast paced data production and delivery environment.
- Proficiency with ENVI/IDL, Python, Arc GIS, or other geospatial software/programming languages.
