Key Account Representative Internship

Summary:

The Key Account Representative Intern is responsible for enhancing and increasing the customer/shipper base of ATS Logistics Services by providing outstanding customer service. This person will work closely with existing customers to ensure current and future logistics needs are met; evaluate and maintain a shipper base in the data system on an ongoing basis; and maintain updated information on all available shipments. This person must understand the ATS value proposition and be able to articulate to others.  Creating long term customer retention and loyalty are primary responsibilities of this position.  

Education and Experience

  1. Pursuing a college degree in a related field.
  2. Good understanding of marketing, sales, and customer service principles.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
  4. Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).

  14. Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Effectively respond to incoming inquiries from customers, utilizing knowledge of ATS's transportation and logistics services.
  2. Manage day-to-day needs of customers, with emphasis on order entry and tracking.
  3. Use service-centric processes to build long-term relationships with customers.
  4. Manage and grow existing business, utilizing social media, email, and effective telephone communication.
  5. Negotiate and quote rates with customers, entering and recording all terms and conditions of shipment agreements on a daily basis.
  6. Schedule delivery appointments for transportation pick-ups and deliveries.
  7. Monitor progress of responsible shipments and keeps all stake holders informed.
  8. Interface with national sales representative and Logistics operations team to manage the account and provide outstanding service after the sale.
  9. Proactively communicate with national sales representatives the status of each account and any issues that may impact the overall customer relationship with ATS.
  10. Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond effectively to questions; write clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information.
  11. Balance team and individual responsibilities; give and welcome feedback; contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  12. Set and achieve challenging goals in support of department goals.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $18.00 - $20.00.  Hourly pay rate offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work . In addition to the hourly rate of pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
