Shipping Coordinator
The Opportunity:
PTW is looking for a Shipping Coordinator to work in our busy structural steel fabrication shop in Calgary! Full-time permanent work, with lots of opportunities for overtime. If you're an early-riser and have previous experience in a logistical or coordination role, we want to hear from you!
A Day in the Life...
- Coordinates with cross functional teams to create shipping roll outs.
- Provides timely communication to shipping/receiving team for daily tasks and ensures priority is understood and executed according to workload requirements.
- Creates and manages documentation requirements for the shipping/receiving departments.
- Performs data entry into industry specific software.
- Develops and maintains constructive, cooperative, and customer focused working relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and project teams.
- Ensures shipping/receiving documentation is correct and in accordance with company policy.
- Orders shipping consumables (dunnage, pallets) and arranges logistics.
- Create shipping bills and bill of lading (BOL)
- Identifies, evaluates, and escalates potential risks that could affect project deliverables.
- Assists in performing shipping/receiving duties including packing orders, shipping orders, and inventory counts.
- Assists with other administrative and office tasks as required.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years' experience in a logistical or coordinator role.
- Understanding of the full project life cycle, and the scale and scope required for transportation (ex: scheduling, what a wide load is, truck capacity sizes).
- Previous experience managing and creating shipping documentation (ex: BOL's, shipping lists, packing slips)
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Adaptable and approaches tasks in a systematic manner
Other Requirements:
- Must have CSA approved safety boots.
- Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
