Summary
The Cochran Project Assistant complies and maintains records of Project Management activities by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The following are the duties associated with being a Cochran Project Assistant. Other duties may be assigned.
Project Assistant
- Preparation of monthly progress billings, schedule of values, pay applications and ensuring that such billings are completed and correctly billed.
- Creates and inputs into system as required, budgets, phase codes, change orders and work orders.
- Ensure accuracy and timely input of group’s time into the payroll system.
- Assist in project closeouts and documentation flow on projects.
- Complete Job Set up in Vista.
- Insurance requests and compliance between Cochran and Owner/GC.
- Permit application and tracking in PE, including extension requests if necessary.
- Update A/R accounts in P/E on a regular basis.
- Collections of past due A/R accounts.
- Answers correspondence and prepares outgoing mail.
- Assist Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable.
- Provide project team support.
- Reconcile monthly Verizon charges.
- Reconcile twice-monthly Hold/Release payables. PMs do not have access to all the checks and balances necessary prior to payment release (signed contract, lien release, payment from Owner, etc.).

Education/Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability
Ability to read and interpret basic documents; Ability to write basic correspondence;
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Spreadsheet software, accounting software and other software that may be required.
