Maintenance Engineering Intern

Job Summary
This full-time, on-site summer internship (2025) will provide the opportunity to work closely with the Maintenance Department to integrate and optimize the use of Maintenance Connection CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) in daily operations. The primary focus will be on transitioning the department from a reactive to a proactive maintenance model, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of operations at the Wallingford facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Connection CMMS Integration:

  • Update and maintain machinery and asset records within the CMMS system.
  • Regularly update and manage Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules.
  • Transition maintenance requests from Maintenance CT emails into the Maintenance Connection system.
  • Maintain and update the spare parts inventory, ensuring accuracy and completeness in the CMMS system.

Maintenance Spare Parts Inventory Management:

  • Conduct a thorough inventory of existing spare parts.
  • Organize and define storage locations, ensuring proper labeling and clear identification of inventory areas.
  • Enter spare parts inventory data into the CMMS software.
  • Establish optimal stock quantities for spare parts to support ongoing maintenance operations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Recent graduates or currently enrolled in college/university programs, with a preference for degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficient with computer software, including online platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to achieving operational goals.
