Accountant II
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the accounting and financial operations for our entities in Taiwan and Australia. This role requires an understanding of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements in both regions. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in financial and accounting processes, and support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Closing and Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review accurate financials for Taiwan and Australia entities in accordance with USGAAP standards.
- Provide variance analysis and insights on financial performance for both entities.
- Local Statutory and External Audit Requirements:
- Prepare and review accurate financial statements for Taiwan and Australia entities in accordance with local accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or Local reporting requirement).
- Tax Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
- Ensure compliance with Taiwan and Australian tax laws, including GST, VAT, and corporate tax filings.
- Prepare and file required tax documentation and liaise with local tax authorities or consultants as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting both entities.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee general ledger management, account reconciliation, and journal entries for both entities.
- Manage cash posting, costing month-end close, and payroll accounting for Taiwan and Australia.
- Collaborate with share service team for payment, accounts payable, fixed assets, inter-entity and costing etc.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with local and regional teams to develop annual budgets and perioll forecasts.
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasting for Taiwan and Australia entities
- Internal Controls and Audit:
- Support internal and external audits for Taiwan and Australia, providing all necessary documentation.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with local teams in Taiwan and Australia to understand financial needs and address queries.
- Provide regular financial updates to regional leadership and global finance teams.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to multi-entity or regional operations.
- Experience with Taiwan and Australian accounting standards and tax regulations is strongly preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of USGAAP and IFRS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and intercompany transactions for Australia is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multi-entity responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with local and international teams.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
