Strategic Proposal Analyst
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Proposal Analyst to join our dynamic team in the aerospace and defense sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive quote packages for aerospace and defense electronic sub-systems. This individual will work cross-functionally to develop pricing strategies, optimize cost structures, and implement sourcing strategies that support the growth and competitiveness of the business. The Strategic Proposal Analyst will also drive cost-saving initiatives, vertical integration opportunities, and intercompany collaboration, as well as contribute to the development of a technical win strategy as well as support the organization’s value-add strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed quote packages for aerospace and defense electronic sub-systems, ensuring that all cost elements, technical requirements, account for customer specifications and develop win strategy.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing while meeting customer needs and profitability targets.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to secure cost-effective materials and services from suppliers, driving best-in-class cost structures for electronic sub-systems.
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives, ensuring the company remains competitive in the market while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Assess opportunities for vertical integration to streamline the supply chain, reduce costs, and enhance product performance.
- Drive initiatives for in-house manufacturing and assembly of key components to improve margins and control quality.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product management, sales, and operations, to align on pricing strategy, cost targets, and overall business goals.
- Collaborate with other business units and divisions to leverage synergies and improve overall business performance.
- Develop and support the execution of a technical win strategy for customer proposals, ensuring that pricing, value propositions, and technical offerings are aligned to achieve successful contract awards.
- Actively participate in customer discussions, providing insights on cost, value, and technical differentiation.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and customer requirements to adjust pricing strategies and remain competitive.
- Perform cost and price benchmarking to inform strategic decision-making and improve competitiveness.
- Identify and implement process improvements in pricing and quoting to increase efficiency and accuracy across the business.
- Maintain and improve tools, systems, and methods used for pricing analysis and quote preparation.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CFA) is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in pricing, cost analysis, or financial analysis in the aerospace, defense, or a related industry preferred.
- Experience with aerospace and defense electronic sub-systems and knowledge of government contract pricing (e.g., FAR, DFARS) is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, pricing models, and financial analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with vertical integration strategies and sourcing practices in aerospace and defense.
- Ability to develop and execute complex pricing strategies that align with business goals.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex cost structures and make recommendations for improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and negotiate pricing and strategic decisions with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with engineering, production, sales, and other teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
