We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Houseman to join a long-term, dedicated team on a beautiful estate in North Salem, NY.

 

The Houseman will help maintain the residence, guest house, grounds, and vehicles.

This is a full-time, year-round role requiring a proactive mindset and keen attention to detail.

The Houseman will assist with seasonal cleaning, light maintenance, and special projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform light maintenance tasks and ensure the upkeep of grounds, including seasonal cleaning and project work.
• Assist with property upkeep and general tasks as directed by the Property Manager.
• Handle various estate-related projects, both indoors and outdoors, including minor repairs, cleaning, and organizing.
• Work independently and efficiently while maintaining keen attention to detail and quality.
• Ensure safety and proper care of property.
• Must be able to work at second residence in NYC once a week. Transportation costs are covered by the employer.

 

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working on a private estate or in a similar household role is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with property maintenance, landscaping, and general upkeep is essential.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently, with minimal supervision.
• Must be familiar with maintaining grounds on large estates and working in a private residence environment.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
• Ability to work in all seasons and adapt to changing property needs.

 

Schedule:

Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm with flexibility to work extended hours and some weekends as requested.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation range of $40-$45/hour, based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package including fully paid family health, dental, and vision insurance, paid over-time beyond 40 hours/week, paid time off, sick days, paid holidays, annual discretionary bonus.
