Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Summary 

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will analyze data related to Times Microwave Systems products to address material usage discrepancies. The intern will collect data to confirm actual versus standard usages, supporting an ongoing scrap reduction project with the production team. The position provides hands-on experience in an exciting Electronics Manufacturing environment.  Qualified candidates should be able to work 40 hours a week, on-site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, OD tape, and gram scales.
  • Dissect, measure, and collect data on TMS cable products.
  • Safely handle razor blades for dissection.
  • Learn to read Manufacturing Instructions (MI).
  • Understand the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Assist with validating material usage for cable products 
  • Update process documentation 
  • Support scrap reduction initiatives for extruder jacket startups and bleeders.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Graduate of or currently enrolled in College or University Engineering Program
  • Strong communication and research skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and basic computer programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and problem-solve to address data variances.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently for extended periods.
