The Position:

The Faculty of Business is seeking a candidate with a strong background in Business Analytics at the rank of assistant or associate professor for a tenure-track position with an expected commencement date of July 1, 2025. The successful candidate must demonstrate expertise in machine learning, business coding, causal inference, social/text analytics, predictive or prescriptive data analytics, and sentiment analysis, among others, in business functional areas. Experience using tools such as R and Python with hands-on applications in business functional areas is essential. The holder of this position is responsible for providing high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing new courses, undertaking innovative research projects, and delivering outstanding services to the university and community as defined in the collective agreement. Also required are a robust or promising research portfolio in Business Analytics and related fields and a promising or successful record of securing tri-agency or similar funds.

Qualifications:

  • ABD or PhD in Business Analytics, Business Administration, or Management of Information Systems with a focus on Business Analytics. A combination of data sciences, machine learning, business knowledge, and a degree earned from an AACSB-accredited institution are strongly desired.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and a robust or promising research portfolio.
  • Experience in supervising graduate students, industry, and interdisciplinary teaching would be appreciated.
  • Along with the relevant academic credentials as mentioned above, this position requires excellent communication, organizational, administration and online skills. The successful candidate should be comfortable teaching and working in a 100% online environment and have demonstrated ability to maintain a high academic standard, maintain accurate student records, return students' work promptly, etc.

A secondary area of expertise or teaching ability in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) may be considered an asset.
