Job Summary:
This is an extraordinary career opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer to join an innovative, community-based behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities services organization located in South Georgia. Georgia Pines Community Service Board is a public, not-for-profit organization with an annual budget of $25M and a diverse workforce of 300 direct-care and support staff. We provide services to 6 rural counties with several locations. We strive to provide the highest quality, evidence-based services in the least restrictive settings.

This person will provide internal leadership to further advance a performance culture that ensures that excellent care is delivered within a measurable, cost-effective, and outcomes-based framework. This position is an integral part of the agency’s executive leadership team and reports directly to the CEO with appropriate latitude for utilizing seasoned judgment to accomplish responsibilities. In addition to providing leadership to the agency’s strategic initiatives, this position will also guide the activities of the following administrative functions: Revenue Management, Contracts, Facilities Management, and Community Relations.
Responsibilities include:
- Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, stakeholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Compares service and revenue projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
- Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
- Works with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
- Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in services and market share. Identifies opportunities for expansion into new services.
- Oversees budget preparation and audit function
The “Ideal" candidate will possess the following qualities and experiences:
- A passion for the mission of community-based mental health and intellectual/developmental disability services.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred. A minimum of five (5) years senior leadership experience in complex, multi-site behavioral health organizations. A successful track record of working collaboratively with senior management teams, direct-service and support staff, payers, community partners, external monitors and external policymakers.
- The ability to think strategically while effectively managing multiple activities on a day-to-day basis.
- A strong business acumen with a balanced commitment to quality services.
- Be an excellent communicator, decisive & flexible manager, & strategic risk-taker with an ability to cultivate entrepreneurialism.
- Be comfortable with and effective at being a change agent.
