Contracts and Accounting Business Intern- Summer 2025

The Contracts and Accounting Business Intern reports to both the Director of Contracts and Accounting Manager. The Contracts and Accounting Business Intern is responsible to assist the Contracts Specialist with the review, entry, and administration of customer contracts, as well as assisting the Accounting team with various duties related to the accounts payable and receivable. For the Contracts team, they will collaborate with internal departments to ensure the purchase orders received comply with agreed upon terms and conditions of sale and for the Accounting team they will assist with the timely payment of vendor invoices as well as timely receipt of customer payments. The Contracts and Accounting Business Intern will have a keen attention to detail and possess the ability to identify potential risks for ABT to help avoid contractual disputes or financial losses.  Under the guidance of the Contracts Specialist and Accounts Payable team, the Contracts and Accounting Business Intern will be responsible for the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examine contract clauses, liabilities, stipulations, and obligations, and will provide documented acceptance or recommend required customer contract updates accordingly
  • Reviews contract terms to identify any potential risk or compliance issues
  • Maintain organized system of physical and digital records through Ruby system for all purchase order reviews and acceptance or rejections
  • Prepare and disseminate information to appropriate employees regarding interpretation of terms and Conditions
  • Create initial FilePro job structure based on analysis of customer specific requirements
  • Complete international shippers and ensure export compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Process vendor invoices for payment
  • Process customer payments and generate customer invoicing
  • Complete regular AP scan and verify functions 

Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED, Required
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret legal data (strongly preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced working environment
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
