NOC Engineer III

 

Position Summary

The NOC Engineer III will collaborate with Loffler employees and customer stakeholders to develop/improve the overall performance, documentation, automation, processes, and integrations for a variety of systems used by the ITSG. This individual will provide reporting, documentation, and automation results within the IT department as well as for other departments within Loffler. They will maintain a true desire to deliver results with a sense of urgency, utilizing best practices, technical skills/experiences, common sense, and best judgment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in "other related duties as assigned":

  • NOC Operations (50%)
    • Implement scalable solutions for automation, monitoring, systems integration, process optimization, documentation, reporting and release management.
    • Document new and existing system processes, technical specifications, and system requirements within appropriate documentation portal.
    • Build monitoring and reporting solutions to ensure overall system health and performance.
    • Educate and provide technical guidance to team members and coworkers on systems and tools.
    • Collaborate and communicate across functional borders to work within the ITSG as well as with other departments to meet organizational needs.
    • Develop configuration and best practice standards and solutions to support engineers working with the tool stack and developed systems and data sets.
    • Provide systems and data integration between many disparate tool sets, reporting systems and applications to drive business efficiency.
    • Assist with solution updates and maintenance from development to production.
    • Conduct root cause analysis of critical issues with automation and reporting systems.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for portions of the MSP tool stack.
  • Service Delivery (30%)
    • Assist with client on-boarding and off-boarding projects.
    • Respond to, process, and resolve/escalate alerts from Loffler's systems and vendors.
    • Monitor and address client alerts (i.e. Down Servers, Backup Alerts, and Critical System Alerts).
    • Improve existing reports, data sets, automation, documentation and systems across disparate departments, applications and data sets.
    • Provide support and tools to diagnose end-user issues and monitor service and systems health.
    • Provide technical support to customers.
  • NOC Operation Planning (20%)
    • Promote a culture of operational excellence, enabling continuous integration and deployment, rapid iteration, and ever-increasing automation.
    • Advance documentation standards including use of version control and documentation of scripts, API configurations, and other programmatic settings that are unique to Loffler's ITSG solutions.
    • Consult with management and stakeholders on architectural designs, new toolset candidates and new automation projects to best serve the intended users.
    • Confer with stakeholders to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures and provide a system to receive and implement user feedback.
    • Responsible for understanding, staying updated on, and abiding by the Employee Handbook as written.
    • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:        

  • Minimum of two days in office
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to quickly assimilate knowledge of new technologies, systems, and APIs.
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Able to work cooperatively with others as part of a team.
  • In depth knowledge of IT best practices and operations within the organization and within the industry.
  • Background knowledge in security topics relating to IT systems, networks, and applications.
  • Experience with the ConnectWise tool stack (Manage, Automate, Control, etc.).
  • Experience with Azure or other cloud technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging aggregating frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Experience with SQL query language.
  • Experience with database reporting tools such as Power BI & BrightGauge.
  • Experience with using, documenting & managing disparate systems integration and APIs.
  • Creative problem-solving approach to develop novel solutions to many disparate business needs.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently, as well as collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once, with superior attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related technical field (i.e. Computer Science, Engineering) and/or 2-4 years IT or Software Development experience.

The posted range for this position represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation for this role. In addition to the base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
