Terminal Manager - Windsor, Ontario

We are a family-owned transportation company, based in Byron Center, MI, and have been in operation since 1978.

Due to a recent change, we are looking to add a Terminal Manager to a dedicated team of transportation professionals in our Windsor, Ontario location.

The Terminal Manager plays a key role in managing day-to-day operations, while developing a strong relationship with employees, customers and vendors. Several years of experience in the trucking industry, a keen eye for detail and follow-through on federal and provincial regulations are attributes of a successful candidate.

Shift: Weekdays with occasional weekend work and non-standard hours as needed.

What you will do:

  • Maintain knowledge of DOT & FMCSA Regulations
  • Manage, motivate, and lead the operational teams
  • Manage work flows within the department and set clear expectations
  • Responsible for training and the continual development of employees within the department
  • Conduct regular meetings and reviews with employees regarding operational issues and solutions
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOP's for all operational areas
  • Project management and implementation
  • Establish and measure quality metrics for improvements
  • Identify operational efficiencies through technology
  • Develop strong working relationships with customers and vendors

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics, Business Administration or closely related field preferred
  • A minimum of three years in the trucking industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to relate to all people at all levels
  • Ability to lead people and drive change
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Ability to create and maintain simple workflows and processes
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Knowledge of TMW, Logistics Software, and PeopleNet is a plus
