NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the U.S. Forest Service. These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the U.S. Forest Service through the Agriculture Conversation Experienced Service (ACES) Program.

The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR MA/MS Degree

Duties:

Disaster Engineer Specialist will provide professional consultation on all aspects of the engineering program in direct support of recovery and rebuilding efforts related to the consequences of wildfires, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Responsibilities will include designing and managing facilities-related projects to restore and enhance infrastructure impacted by such events, coordinating emergency repairs to ensure continuity of operations, and ensuring that all engineering projects related to disaster recovery meet organizational standards and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Create strategic plans and set engineering guidelines to support disaster program implementation.   30%
  • Create detailed plans and set engineering standards to ensure successful program implementation. in support of recovery activities.   30%
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering solutions with broader resource management goals. Collaborate with teams from various departments to ensure engineering solutions support overall resource management goals, in support of recovery and rebuilding activities.   20%
  • Establish policies, goals, and guidelines for the engineering program, develop both short-term and long-term strategies to achieve objectives, and ensure all actions comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.   20%
