Experienced Family Assistant

An executive couple with school-aged children is seeking an experienced Family Assistant to join their team and work in their Gold Coast, Chicago residence.

You must enjoy a busy after-school routine, assisting with daily household tasks, and working in partnership with the parents.

Start date after July 4 holiday is ideal but the family can be flexible for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities

• Help drive children to afternoon activities
• Handle household tasks
• Assist with daily graces (there are Housekeepers 3 days/week)
• Help with laundry
• Run errands
• Source and supervise vendors
• Research and book family travel activities and summer camps

 

Qualities

• Prior experience in a private home
• Prior experience caring for children
• Strong communication skills
• Warm, positive and consistent presence
• Tech savvy
• Great with kids – makes a connection
• Self-starter – sees what needs to be done
• Knows Chicago well
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified
• Competent swimmer
• Flexible to travel with the family (summer or school holidays)
• Valid driver's license with your own vehicle a plus!

 

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 11:30 am to 6:30 pm with some flexibility required for a later evening or a weekend. 5 hours of flexibility are built into the weekly hours with 40 hours guaranteed weekly.

 

Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation of $45-50/hour offered, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Benefits include an annual discretionary bonus, healthcare stipend, 401(k), paid holidays, paid time off, sick days, and paid parking at the residence.
