Job Summary: M. Braun, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Systems Specialist to join our Technical Department. This role involves planning and executing system testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal functionality of glovebox systems. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in industrial equipment manufacturing and an understanding of inert atmosphere containment technology. This individual must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with internal teams and customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform acceptance testing for standard and semi-custom glovebox systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Sign off on systems upon successful completion of testing, verifying functionality, integrity, and performance.
  • Review engineering documentation and project specifications to develop and execute test plans, including functional and safety evaluations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in glovebox assemblies.
  • Train with senior technical personnel to conduct advanced testing on complex systems, including integrated process equipment and automation components.
  • Provide technical expertise to identify production challenges, propose solutions, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve efficiency.
  • Write detailed non-conformance reports and assist in corrective action planning.
  • Share system testing best practices with production and electrical teams to enhance overall manufacturing quality.
  • Participate in Design Review meetings to provide technical insights on system performance and manufacturability.
  • Assist the Service Department in field troubleshooting, installations, and commissioning of glovebox systems at customer sites (up to 50% travel required).
  • Support special projects, including R&D initiatives, customer return assessments, and system upgrades.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support departmental and company objectives.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial equipment manufacturing, preferably in inert atmosphere systems, vacuum technology, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of glovebox operations, gas purification, pressure control systems, and integrated manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, vacuum pumps, and gas management components is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with engineers, production teams, and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to balance, climb, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, push, reach, lift, and carry lightweight materials. Fine motor skills required for assembling and troubleshooting intricate system components. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Visual Requirements: Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and computer screens with precision.
  • Hearing Requirements: Must be able to detect hazard sounds and maintain awareness of the production environment for personal and team safety.
  • Mental Requirements: Strong comprehension, reasoning, decision-making, communication, and mathematical skills. Must be capable of quickly diagnosing and resolving technical issues under time constraints.
