IP Docketing Specialist

UB Greensfelder has an opening for a full-time Docket Specialist in the Intellectual Property Practice Group working on both Patent and Trademark matters in our Chicago office. This role is eligible for some hybrid work after the initial onboarding period.

Responsibilities Include:

• Docketing of both domestic and foreign patents and trademarks and for tracking all deadlines associated with that process.
• Analyze incoming correspondence including electronic mail, hard copy mail, and other pertinent data to be entered into the IP docketing system.
• Runs and clears daily dockets and assists with docket maintenance.
• Prepares special docket reports for attorneys and clients.

Qualified Applicants Will Have:

• 3+ years’ patent/trademark docketing experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Knowledge of Pattsy database or comparable docketing database is required.
• High attention to detail with data entry and auditing of Intellectual Property resources to resolve complex docketing issues.
• Strong computing skills with the ability to quickly become proficient with new software tools is desired.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as a PDF program are required.
