Intellectual Property Paralegal - Trademark

UB Greensfelder has an opening for a full-time Paralegal in the Intellectual Property Practice Group working specifically on Trademark matters in our Chicago office. This role is eligible for occasional hybrid work after the initial onboarding period.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist attorneys in a variety of trademark matters, including trademark prosecution, trademark searches, and trademark enforcement.
• Preparation and filing of trademark applications and related documents with the USPTO and foreign trademark offices.
• Management and execution of trademark renewals and maintenance filings.
• Oversight of the trademark docketing staff, including quality control, monitoring attorney docket for deadlines, and generating special docket reports.
• Preparation of routine legal correspondence and assisting with trademark due diligence searches.
• Frequent client contact, both written and verbal.
• Ability to accurately create time entry narratives to describe the work performed as this position includes a billable hour requirement.

Qualified Applicants Will Have:

• 5+ years’ trademark prosecution experience, including US and foreign trademark prosecution.
• Knowledge of trademark databases such as Pattsy or comparable docketing databases.
• Trademark search experience, with knowledge of CorSearch preferred.
• Official U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database experience.
• Strong computing skills with the ability to quickly become proficient with new software tools.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills are required. Experience with PDF programs (Kofax/Adobe) and VISIO is desired.
• Familiarity with handling and processing trademark specimens and trademark/tradedress graphics.
• Familiarity and experience with copyright and patent prosecution is a plus.
