About the Role

Southeastern Equipment is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team and play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experiences.
You'll be the go-to person for customers bringing in their equipment for service. From greeting them with a smile to ensuring their needs are met efficiently and professionally—you'll be right in the middle of the action, coordinating between customers, technicians, and parts.
What You'll Do

Welcome and assist customers in the service department

Listen carefully and document equipment concerns accurately

Explain service options, pricing, and timelines clearly and confidently

Schedule service appointments and assign tasks to technicians

Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely repairs

Maintain detailed service records, invoices, estimates, and work orders

Monitor shop supply inventory and reorder as needed

Assist the Operations Manager with additional service tasks and projects

Keep communication flowing smoothly between all involved parties
Success in This Role Looks Like

Closing service jobs in 5 days or less
-
Helping techs achieve $19K+ in billed work per month
-
Hitting department income goals and 5S standards
-
Maximizing billed versus overtime hours
What You Bring
-
High school diploma or GED (technical training is a plus)
-
Experience in a service or equipment-related role is highly preferred

Strong communication and organizational skills

Comfortable working with inventory and computer systems

Willingness to become forklift certified

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in a shop environment

Valid driver's license
