NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications:

PhD Degree in natural resource disciplines with minimum additional experience of 15 year(s) in federal natural resource management

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
Duties:

Provide advice, analysis, and project support to MOJA in the fields of science, policy, and natural resources management.

  • Advise on ongoing mining operations and support management efforts such as review of Operations Plans and policy compliance   20%
  • Provide project support for AML restoration   15%
  • Advise on grazing permits and activity, support monitoring and management of grazing activity   15%
  • Provide support and analysis for infrastructure projects involving natural resources such as installation of water wells, decommissioning of water wells, management of water systems, and installation of desert tortoise fencing and other wildlife protection measures. Evaluate the impacts of external projects, such as renewable energy, transportation, on natural resources.   20%
  • Assist in standing up a data collection program for visitor use management, compiling and analyzing data   20%
  • Mentor park staff in these fields   10%
