The Quality Assurance Engineer will lead efforts to analyze, resolve, and prevent quality concerns related to electronic automotive products. This role requires hands-on failure analysis, coordination with cross-functional teams, and continuous improvement initiatives to support both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of quality standards, automotive electronics, and customer-facing experience, particularly in high-travel environments.
Analyze customer and internal quality concerns to determine root cause and implement corrective actions (interim & permanent).
Report and track problem resolution status in internal and external reporting systems.
Direct initial containment and verification activities across departments.
Communicate quality issues, actions, and progress to internal management and external customers.
Apply structured problem-solving tools such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
Interpret product specifications to validate root cause and corrective action.
Develop and maintain quality-related documentation, including work instructions and analysis reports.
Coordinate and prepare monthly customer quality performance reports.
Manage test equipment calibration programs (as assigned).
Maintain strong working relationships with customer quality representatives; attend customer meetings and report on open issues.
Lead or participate in customer "dealer scramble" activities as required.
Drive continuous improvement efforts using Kaizen and other lean methodologies.
Audit internal manufacturing processes and ensure effective problem resolution.
Provide situational updates to management and lead cross-functional communication meetings.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of APQP experience in a Tier 1 automotive electronics environment.
In-depth understanding of customer and internal quality standards and technical documentation.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in FTA and other root cause analysis techniques.
Ability to travel extensively (80–100%) with frequent travel to Reynosa, Mexico.
Languages: Business-level fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required; Japanese is a plus.
