Position: Process Engineer

Location: Amphenol Ardent Concepts – Hampton, NH

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes for high fidelity ganged multicoaxial cable assemblies, including but not limited to cable cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, connector assembly, and testing.
  • Conduct process evaluations, root cause analyses, and process capability studies to identify and resolve process related issues, defects, and inefficiencies.
  • Design and implement process control plans, process monitoring systems, and statistical process control (SPC) methods to ensure process stability and capability.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to provide input on manufacturability, producibility, and process improvements during the product development phase.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma projects, to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Train and mentor production personnel on process procedures, best practices, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with quality and supply chain teams to investigate and resolve non-conformances, customer complaints, and supplier-related issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the manufacturing of high fidelity ganged multicoaxial cable assemblies or similar high-tech products.
  • Strong technical expertise in cable assembly manufacturing processes, including cable cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, connector assembly, and testing.
  • Experience with process validation, statistical process control (SPC), and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Green or Black belt certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using SolidWorks and statistical analysis tools (such as Minitab or JMP) is a plus.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment
