Cell Manager/Production Manager

SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials and manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate Supervisors.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations
  • Active presence on the production floor to ensure production runs smoothly
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with several departments throughout the day
  • Regularly report on key company metrics and tier meetings
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Experience using ERP systems
  • Direct supervisor of manufacturing employees, updates timecards, completes bi-annual evaluations, manages vacation schedules, resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Management/HR for action
  • Trains and develops employees, executes training and cross training regularly
  • Routinely identifies personnel for potential promotion
  • Performs other related duties as required to meet the goals and objectives of the Company

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years supervisor experience preferred

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Cell Managers are required to keep abreast of product improvements and product processes and attend supervisory seminars on an on-going basis.

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent in English; reading, writing, and speaking
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

 

JOB SKILLS

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Strong leadership and management skills

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas
  • Hearing protection in specific locations
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas
