Sales Specialist - Grand Rapids, MI

The Sales Specialist in Grand Rapids, MI supports the Business Development Managers and Amphenol Sales Team members to drive completion and closure of bidding activities. The Sales Specialist works with the Pricing and Engineering teams to gather and communicate information to the Sales team members and customers.  The Sales Specialist helps drive sales by Mapping out customer programs and requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities with the Amphenol Sales team
  • Participate in off-site Customer visits to build and retain strong relationships
  • Assist with twelve-month forecasts that include, sales goals, projections, and growth
  • Work with the Purchasing team, Engineering team, Suppliers and Customers to facilitate bid opportunities
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and communicate to customers
  • Provide pricing and technical assistance to both internal and external customers
  • Help facilitate the effective hand-off of information from bid to contract performance phase
  • Facilitate pricing opportunities in a timely manner
  • Research the defense, aerospace and space market conditions to determine potential business opportunities
  •  Lead the development, delivery, and maintenance of marketing and sales materials
  • Participate in launch support teams
  • Provide excellent Customer Service to external customers to ensure a high level of customer support

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline, strongly preferred
  • 3-4 years of experience in customer service, sales and/or marketing, strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • 20% Travel
