JOB DESCRIPTION:

Amphenol is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Co-op Student to assist in our engineering test lab. The primary objective of this position is to support testing and validation of connector samples, which will undergo environmental, electrical, and mechanical stress conditions as part of a comprehensive testing protocol. The successful candidate will work closely with our Reliability Engineers, assisting with sample preparation, data collection, and reporting, while gaining valuable experience in a technical lab environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the preparation and setup of connector test samples for various validation tests. • Support the testing process by collecting, organizing, and recording data from environmental, electrical, and mechanical tests.

• Enter test results into the computer, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.

• Assist in the compilation of technical reports detailing test results.

• Participate in design review discussions and provide input from the testing perspective.

• Help organize and maintain the lab, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.

• Work on assigned tasks independently within set boundaries and timelines.

• Assist with other related duties as required by Reliability Engineers and supervisors. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS GAINED:

• Exposure to real-world product testing and validation processes within the electronics industry.

• A strong understanding of the development cycle for new product designs tailored to customer applications. REQUIREMENTS: Must Have:

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Proficiency in 2D drawing.

• Strong software skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and completion of assigned tasks on time.

• Good communication skills, with the ability to question and accuracy in collecting and reporting test data.

• Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and thoroughness in completing work.
 

DESIRED:

• Knowledge of the electronics industry and familiarity with connectors and small components.

• Experience with Minitab for statistical analysis.

• Prior training in WHMIS and familiarity with safety protocols. GENERAL
