Senior Clinician
This is a responsible position in clinical services/supervision and quality assurance activities.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Provide individual and group supervision to staff as assigned.
Conduct treatment plan reviews of clinical records.
Conduct administrative reviews of clinical records.
Perform tasks assigned related to Quality Assurance and quality improvement process to include internal investigations.
Provide consultation services in the areas of program planning and development.
Approve treatment plans and revisions of treatment plans/services plans as assigned.
Perform the function of a therapist to include assessing and treating individuals and groups who have mental disorders and their families through direct services, supervision of treatment programs, and staff supervision.
Complete reports required for client records as well as all forms and paperwork required by the Agency.
Employee may periodically be assigned to engage in community services and consultation work with other groups and agencies.
Provide clinical training and support to direct care staff.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Considerable experience in providing a broad range of clinical services to persons suffering from mental illness.
Extensive knowledge of serious mental illness, principles of counseling and extensive knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, its use and clinical application.
Extensive knowledge of the ADMH Administrative Code for Mental Illness Community Programs.
Extensive knowledge of the Medicaid Provider’s Manual, Chapters 105 and 106.
Basic knowledge of psychotropic medications concerning their use, misuse, desirable and undesirable effects.
Knowledge and ability in the use of research techniques for the purpose of program/record evaluation.
Ability to make clear and pertinent statements both orally and written.
Ability to work cooperatively with consumers and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree from a recognized college or university in the field of psychology, counseling, social work, or related field plus four years of progressive clinical experience. Must be fully licensed.
Progressive, responsible positions in a mental health setting with administrative experience preferred.
Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Carastar’s auto insurance carrier.
Must maintain at least liability coverage on personal vehicles.
