NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS). These are experienced professionals who provide technical and professional assistance to the Department of Agriculture for the Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in On-the-job experience and areas related to the duties and responsibilities of the position. OR AA Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of related on-the-job experience.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint
  • NRCS telephone system.
Duties:

Provides USDA Farm Bill program assistance to the State Conservationist, Assistant State Conservationist- Programs, Assistant State Conservationist - Management and Strategy, State Resource Conservationist, State Engineer, State Office, Area and Field offices related to the implementation of Farm Bill programs for Washington.

  • Supports the implementation of Farm Bill conservation programs in Washington by contributing to program operations, data management, and field-related coordination. Responsibilities include preparing and managing technical documents, reviewing, and organizing soil sample submissions, digitizing records, conducting data analysis, and developing spreadsheets and electronic files to support conservation planning and program delivery.   30%
  • Maintains tracking and controls of programmatic records, management, and organization of information. Tracks incoming data and maintains and uploads new documents to the appropriate systems. Leads efforts for maintain State Office file code system. Leads paper file scanning initiatives and archiving.   25%
  • Drafts State Bulletins, instructions, and directives.   15%
  • Completes and reviews Concur travel authorizations for staff.   15%
  • Provides training and support in business tools and systems for SAARS, IAS requisitions, and others as requested.   15%
