Compliance Coordinator

Q Microwave, a leader in the precision RF manufacturing, design and manufacture of cutting-edge military and defense microwave solutions, is seeking a  Compliance Coordinator to join our entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast-paced team located in El Cajon, CA. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation and maintenance of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and related security requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, ITAR (22 CFR 120–130), EAR (15 CFR 730–774), and internal security procedures.
  • Maintain facility clearance (FCL) and interface with DCSA and Cognizant Security Agencies on audits, inspections, and communications.
  • Process and track personnel security clearances, prescreens, visit authorizations, and foreign travel notifications using DISS/NBIS, SIMS, and NISS.
  • Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and ongoing employee training.
  • Maintain accurate and complete security files and documentation in compliance with federal and corporate standards.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding security requirements and access authorization management.
  • Monitor physical security systems and maintain control of secure workspaces, including UL 2050-certified Closed Areas.
  • Assist in internal self-inspections, prepare for DCSA assessments, and assist with peer-to-peer audits.
  • Review and interpret DD254s to ensure proper execution of contract security requirements throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Ensure appropriate handling, marking, storage, and transmission of export-controlled technical data under ITAR/EAR.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and compliance teams to ensure proper export authorization is in place.
  • Report security incidents, violations, and insider threat concerns in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) on classified IT readiness and STIG/CCRI requirements for classified laptops
  • Stay informed of changes in national security and export control regulations and complete required continuing education and training.
  • Responsible for performing all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulations, and special safety concerns.
  • Obtain access to eMASS, SPRS/PIEE, DCSA, NISS, DISS, among other security websites assigned by FSO

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years related security experience in lieu of degree)
  • 3–5 years of relevant industrial or government security experience
  • Active Secret clearance (or eligibility to obtain and maintain secret clearance)
  • Familiarity with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DCSA guidance, and DoD 5205.07
  • Familiar with CUI and basic cyber security requirements.
  • Proficient with DISS/NBIS, SIMS, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) FSO certification (or ability to obtain within six months)
  • Experience supporting compliance in a cleared defense contracting environment
  • Knowledge of export regulations including ITAR and EAR
  • Familiarity with DD254s, classified contracts, and safeguarding procedures
  • Previous work in a cleared facility or defense industry
  • Understanding of physical and cyber-physical security controls
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.

 

Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to lift 25–50 lbs of test equipment with assistance.
