Digital Electrical Engineer
As a Digital Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing cutting-edge RF and microwave subassemblies for mission-critical military and aerospace radar and communications systems. You will collaborate closely as part of a highly skilled, cross-functional engineering team—working alongside RF, mechanical, firmware, and test engineers—to design and integrate advanced digital hardware systems, including complex CCAs, flexible circuits, and custom test interfaces.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform requirements analysis, specification development, and interface definition for digital and mixed-signal components within RF subsystem designs.
- Design, simulate, and verify complex digital CCAs and flex cables using a wide range of components including processors, FPGAs, high-speed ADCs/DACs, memory, logic devices, and op amps.
- Utilize schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Allegro or similar) to create robust, space- and noise-optimized designs suitable for high-reliability applications.
- Generate block/flow diagrams, interconnection drawings (ICDs), electrical schematics.
- Develop test support hardware including breakout boards and specialized cable/connector fixtures.
- Participate in technical design reviews and work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams including RF, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering.
- Support risk management efforts by identifying electrical design risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Own design responsibility for performance, schedule, and cost at the board or sub-circuit level.
- Assist in the design optimization of RF performance including circuit analysis and simulation, component, material, and process selection, PCB layout and mechanical packaging.
- Team up with technicians and assemblers on test, tune, and debug of products and support production.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in digital hardware circuit design for CCA and/or embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with digital and mixed-signal simulation tools (e.g., SPICE-based simulators).
- Experience in working collaboratively with firmware/FW, FPGA, and software teams.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power distribution, and noise mitigation best practices in high-speed digital designs..
- Proficient in basic office tools including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email platforms
- Familiarity with Engineering CAE/CAD tools such as LabView, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Cadence MWO, and Keysight ADS.
