GIS Specialist

As a GIS Specialist, you have the opportunity to enhance several City operations through geoprocessing, spatial data conversions,
and creating map layouts for all City Departments as well as the public and private sectors.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and maintain GIS data by developing, updating, and ensuring the accuracy of spatial databases and metadata.
  • Create visual tools and insights, including maps, dashboards, and web applications.
  • Collect and analyze spatial data using GPS, mobile mapping technologies, and field equipment.
  • Provide technical support by integrating GIS with other systems, and automating workflows using Python and related tools.
  • Stay current in GIS best practices.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent and be at least 18 years of age.
  • Actively working on or enrolled in a degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Information Technology (IT), programming, or related field.
  • A working knowledge of ESRI ArcGis is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  The starting hourly wage is $21.92 per hour and will increase to $22.79 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.

WORK HOURS:              Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Occasional After hours needed

WORK LOCATION:        City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall.  This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.
