Business Unit Director

SUMMARY

the Business Unit Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for Micro-Coax, an Amphenol Company. This executive-level role oversees all core functional areas—including operations, sales, engineering, quality, and finance—and is accountable for driving revenue growth, profitability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. With a strong emphasis on commercial strategy, customer engagement, and market expansion, the Business Unit Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the organization in alignment with Amphenol’s company objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Define and execute strategic plans to achieve short- and long-term business goals, including revenue growth, margin expansion, and market share development
  • Lead and direct all business unit operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Direct and mentor a high-performing leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration across functions
  • Own full P&L accountability for the Micro-Coax business unit, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers and OEMs to ensure retention, satisfaction, and business growth
  • Ensure adherence to industry certifications and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, ITAR)
  • Promote a culture of quality and compliance
  • Regularly report key performance indicators (KPIs), strategic initiatives, and operational metrics to Amphenol senior leadership

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Unit Director will provide strategic direction and lead a cross-functional leadership team and hold ultimate accountability for the performance of the entire Micro-Coax organization. Responsibilities include direct supervision of department leaders and oversight of functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Customer Support, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, EH&S and Human Resources.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of RF/microwave technologies or high-reliability electronics preferred
  • Proven track record of success in strategic planning, operational leadership, and financial management
  • Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and regulatory environment
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
